3 groups collaborate on national awards program. (Transcripts).


Three professional associations, representing more than 90 percent of the commercial interior design and corporate real estate/workplace management sectors, have announced their intent to collaborate in support of an international awards program that recognizes sustainable design leadership for the interior built environment.

The associations are the International Interior Design Association (ILDA ILDA Intelligent Loop Detector Application

ILDA International Lutheran Deaf Association (Blaine, MN) 
), The American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA  (AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture ) Interiors Committee and CoreNet Global. Two awards will recognize sustainable design leadership as articulated by advocacy, mentoring and projects that reflect consistent commitment to the principles of sustainability in professional practice.

The first award will recognize a design professional or design firm, and the second will recognize a business organization.

Nominations opened on May 15, 2003, and will close August 1. Award winners will be recognized in national media. Self-nominations or nominations by others are welcome, and applications are currenly available.
