3 die as Merc hits M1 lorry.THREE people died yesterday when their Mercedes crashed at high speed into a lorry on a motorway hard shoulder. The victims, two men and a woman, died instantly when the car's roof became wedged under the back of the truck. Incredibly, a fourth passenger in the back suffered only chest injuries. They were believed to be returning home to Essex after a family party in Milton Keynes Milton Keynes (mĭl`tən kēnz`), town (1991 pop. 36,886) and borough, S central England. Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "It was a very severe accident, one of the worst I've seen for many years." Police said: "It was a high-speed impact.
