3 charged in fatal shooting barrage in Milwaukee

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with a July 4 shooting barrage that killed four people and injured two, and investigators are looking for two alleged accomplices, a police official said Monday.

Rosario C. Fuentez told investigators that he, Antonio D. Williams and James R. Washington brandished guns and confronted a crowd gathered on a street, according to a criminal complaint charging the men filed Friday.

Police are searching for Williams and Washington and consider them armed and dangerous, Capt. David Zibolski said Monday.

Fuentez told police that Williams asked him and Washington for help retaliating against gang members who Williams said had beaten him up and stolen his watch, the complaint says. Fuentez said the three armed themselves, drove to a street where a crowd had gathered, hid behind houses for several minutes and watched people, it says.

Fuentez said Williams then walked into the crowd and fired, according to the complaint. Fuentez admitted firing above the crowd, it says.

Fuentez said that the three then drove away, and that Williams said he thought he had shot a woman in the head, the complaint says.

Killed were Jacoby Claybrooks, 28; Kendrick Jackson, 34; Mariella Fisher, 27; and Theresa Raddle, 23. Two people were injured.

Relatives of Claybrooks and Jackson have said the two were not gang members.

Williams, 25, and Fuentez, 24, face four felony charges of first-degree reckless homicide. Washington, 28, who has previous drug convictions, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The Milwaukee County jail did not have an attorney listed for Fuentez on Monday evening. A telephone number in Fuentez's name was disconnected.
