Two of the three students taken to the hospital are 15, the third is 19.

The other four students, all 15, were returned to the school.

Gwin would not release the identities of the students because they are juveniles, but said all seven students are males.

He also would not comment if any of the seven students have had disciplinary problems with the school and he would not say if the residence was home to any of the students.

Gwin said initial interviews show the students skipped their first period class, which began at 8 a.m.

``They all left school with the intention of participating in a party, which is grounds for suspension,'' Gwin said. ``All of the kids had something to drink.''

He said the dean will decide on the length of suspension after interviewing the students and talking with their parents. Most of the conferences with parents are scheduled for this morning.

Gwin said there was enough alcohol on scene that the three students were ``close to passing out.''

All of the students will undergo a mandatory school counseling program on alcohol use, he said.
