 bus hit and fatally injured three pedestrians crossing at Vermont Avenue Vermont Avenue is one of the longest running north/south streets in Los Angeles. Located just west of the Harbor Freeway for the major portion south of downtown Los Angeles, it starts in Griffith Park at the Greek Theatre in the Los Feliz neighborhood as a one-lane divided road (it  and Olympic Boulevard Olympic Boulevard may mean:

 in Koreatown on Thursday, authorities said.

One female victim, identified as Jae Sil Kim, 78, of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , died at the scene. The other two, a man and a woman, who were not immediately identified pending notification of family members, were taken to area hospitals, where they later died, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

The bus was traveling south on Vermont as the eastbound pedestrians were entering the intersection, crossing on Olympic at 3:30 p.m., police said.

The female bus driver, identified as E. Lyde of Bellflower, was so traumatized that she was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Good Samaritan Hospital may refer to:

 in Los Angeles to be examined, said Marion MacKenzie, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. She said Lyde has driven for the MTA since August 1991.

There was no indication of impairment on the part of the bus driver, police said. At this point, no charges have been filed. The cause of the incident was under investigation late Thursday.
