Two auto crashes resulted in three fatalities Friday.

In a third crash, a man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol was hospitalized with severe injuries after his car collided with another vehicle.

Elizabeth Ann Kline, 48, of Castaic, was killed at about 9:15 p.m. when the car that she was driving northbound on the Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. It is the principal east-west route through Ventura County and in the southern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  veered off the road south of Ventura Road in Oxnard, police said.

Police estimated that Kline's Ford Thunderbird The Ford Thunderbird was a car manufactured in the United States by the Ford Motor Company. In Oak View, two men died when the vehicles they were driving collided head-on.

Ventura County medical technicians said Frank J. Fragiacomo, 71, of Oak View and William W. Tate, 63, of Oxnard were both dead at the crash scene.

Tate was traveling south on Highway 33 in Oak View when the Dodge Challenger Dodge Challenger is the name of three different automobile models marketed by the Dodge division of the Chrysler Corporation since the 1970s.

Police said Brian Cook of Camarillo was driving his Dodge Stealth at 90 mph when it collided with another vehicle and spun out of control, eventually hitting a tree.

Cook's car veered from the fast lane into the slow one, where it hit the rear of a Mercury Topaz driven by Michael Joseph Burns, 44, of Ventura, officials said.

The collision caused the Topaz, which was traveling at about 60 mph, to spin into the road's center median, officers said.

Although Burns complained of some pain, he was not hospitalized.
