The 34-year-old driver of the white 1992 Isuzu Rodeo, Maria Guerrero of Oxnard, and her 9-year-old son Luis both suffered minor injuries and were in stable condition at UCLA Medical Center UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. A fourth child of Guerrero's, 12-year-old Andrea Alfaro, died at 4:45 p.m. at UCLA Medical Center, said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County Sheriff's Detective Robert Evans.

It appeared that the crash occurred when Guerrero fell asleep at the wheel near the end of a long drive, Evans said.

Authorities said Guerrero left Rosarita, Mexico, about 3:30 a.m. Monday with the four children.

About 5:50 a.m., Guerrero was traveling north on Pacific Coast Highway, about 200 yards north of Carbon Canyon Road, when the Isuzu drifted to the right side of the road and hit the truck, Evans said.

The driver of the big rig, who was not injured, had stopped along the roadway because the business a delivery was planned for, about a half-mile up the road, was not yet open, Evans said.
