3 ARRESTED IN NEWBURY PARK DRIVE-BY SHOOTING.

There were no injuries during the shooting, which sheriff's officials said occurred in a neighborhood once plagued by crime but which currently is on the mend. However, the shooting rekindled some fears among residents about gang-related crime.

The neighborhood of 540 condominium units is located west of Hillcrest Drive and Ventu Park Road.

Sheriff's patrols have concentrated on cracking down on gang activity.

Members of the gang enforcement unit obtained warrants and searched the homes of the three suspects Thursday.

Lopez was arrested at his home and the two juveniles were arrested at a local high school, where they were attending summer classes.
