The best of them have been selected by festival director Phil Wilshaw for the festival which opens on Friday at Pyramid in the town's Cultural Quarter. The festival concentrates on short films and, unusually for a film festival, computer games. The festival has been backed by Lion head, the developer of such successful games as Black and White and The Movies. It has also linked up with the festival to create a competition to find the greatest computer film ever, said to be the first for a British film festival. The festival will open on Friday at 7pm with an hour-long session, The Beginning, showcasing new films. At 8.15pm, another hour will be devoted to films world wide. At 9.30pm, the Warrington-based film group, Kino kino the juice of certain plants, some tropical and some Australian eucalypts, used in medicine as an astringent. , will be showing the best of its 10th year.
