3,000 REASONS TO ATTEND `CLASS'.

Byline: David Kronke Television Critic

Andre Benjamin, better-known to OutKast fans as Andre 3000, got tired of life on the road, playing all his old songs. He was much more interested in continuing to create new music, and along the way, became a one-man entertainment industry.

Benjamin came up with the idea for this year's stylish film musical ``Idlewild,'' and he also mines his life story for Cartoon Network's visually stylish, fun and funny new series ``Class of 3000.''

Benjamin lends his voice to his doppelganger doppelgänger Psychiatry A delusion that a double of a person or place exists elsewhere; it is related to other defects in recognition and suggests organic disease in the nondominant parietal lobe. See Depersonalization disorder, Schizophrenia. , Sunny Bridges, a dapperly dressed pop superstar adept in a wildly wide variety of musical genres, who abandons stardom star·dom

to teach music to gifted kids at the Atlanta school through which he matriculated.

But Sunny is finding academic life a bit of a challenge. School principal Luna (Jeff Glen Bennett) buries him under an avalanche of paperwork, explaining, ``This school has many rules, and those rules have many regulations, and those regulations require much paperwork.''

And all Sunny wants to do is connect with his charges, who are assigned to present a show filled with ``peanuts pea·nut

 and pageantry.''

In another episode, Sunny must rescue a student who signs a deal, literally, with the devil. This means saddling him with an image of an urban hip-hop cowboy with a little bit of AC/DC's Angus Young thrown in and forcing him to shill shill   Slang

Another big draw here is the original music Andre creates for each episode, with infectiously witty songs tonight about peanuts and ham.

``Class of 3000'' should prove irresistible for OutKast fans young and old.
