"Our call centers were taking up to 15,000 calls every fifteen minutes," according to Al Vliet, Manager of Training Delivery and Evaluation at the Red Cross. "The overwhelming volume and the need to have experienced personnel onsite in the affected areas of the Gulf Coast region to oversee the relief effort led to a shortage of trainers for us to tap internally. We had to look elsewhere for a solution and we turned to 2XCL Training to help with our call center in Falls Church, Virginia. With their help, we were able to train over three hundred call agents in three weeks. We would use them again in a minute if the circumstances called for it," said Al Vliet.

"They jumped in and immediately became a part of our team. They gave it all they had in a highly fluid situation that changed daily while projecting a high degree of professionalism. It was like they were part of the American Red Cross family from day one" said Denise Brownlee who functioned as the American Red Cross training manager at the Falls Church, VA call center.

We wanted to return the favor. When I put the call out to our trainers and said that we had a disaster response service situation for the Red Cross, people literally dropped what they were doing and said count me in, what can I do to help. I was overwhelmed by the response knowing this was going to be a demanding job with very long hours. Our trainers made everyone very proud, and the experience with the Red Cross personnel like Al Vliet, Denise Brownlee, Dave Burnham, and Michelle Hill just affirmed my belief in the viability and mission of the Red Cross. They are a fine organization doing a difficult job under difficult circumstances and we are proud to have served them to the best of our ability. People can relax and know when they give donations to the Red Cross it is being put to good use and making a difference in people's lives."
