2Oth Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Fest Next Week.

TAHOE CITY, Calif. -- What started as a canopied cookout in a campground has flourished into a four-day event featuring some of America's finest chefs and the Sierra's greatest culinary offerings. The 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival will return to venues around North Lake Tahoe and the Resort at Squaw Creek Squaw Creek is the name of several bodies of water in North America, including:

Squaw Creek in California that runs through Squaw Valley
Squaw Creek, in Iowa, a tributary of the Skunk River .

Festival events will include a lakeside grape stomp at Gar Woods Grill & Pier in Carnelian carnelian (kärnēl`yən) or cornelian (kôr–, kər–), variety of red chalcedony, used as a gem. Bay; Truckee Wine, Walk and Shop; Tahoe City Dine-Around; Blazing Pans Mountain Chef Cook-off; cooking and grilling demonstrations; food and wine pairing seminars; sustainable seafood classes, tastings and celebrity chef dinner.

The festival kicks off Thursday with Kings Beach's Passport to Dining and culminates with the Sunday Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition at the Resort at Squaw Creek, which serves as the festival's finale, pairing more than 30 restaurants with premium wineries in the most celebrated food event in Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra.

Event tickets range from $25 to $75 and lodging packages will be available. The Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival is sponsored by the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association.
