2ND RATE HIKE REQUESTED FOR TRASH SERVICES COMPANY CITES FUEL COSTS.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  -- Waste Management's Blue Barrel subsidiary has asked the city of Santa Clarita for a second rate hike for next year to cover rising fuel costs.

The company, which picks up residential trash under a franchise with the city, has declined for two days to provide details about the proposed hike, but will discuss it today with city officials.

"It's a preliminary meeting to get the details on Waste Management's rate-increase request," said Travis Lange, the city's Environmental Services The various combinations of scientific, technical, and advisory activities (including modification processes, i.e., the influence of manmade and natural factors) required to acquire, produce, and supply information on the past, present, and future states of space, atmospheric,  manager.
