Japanese Red Army Noun 1. Haruo Wako, now 52, and two other Japanese Red Army members stormed the embassy Sept. 13, 1974, allegedly on Shigenobu's orders. They confined the French ambassador and 10 others for up to 101 hours and fired shots at police, seriously injuring two officers.

 police are planning to serve a fresh arrest warrant on Shigenobu on suspicion of violating the Passport Law by traveling on forged passports, investigative sources said.

Investigators suspect Shigenobu traveled frequently between Japan and Asian countries including China on forged passports in the names of two Japanese.

Shigenobu released a statement through her lawyers saying, ''As a person who fought under the name of the Japanese Red Army in a responsible position, I cannot make remarks or take actions resulting in deserting my comrades who took part in our activities.''

Shigenobu, founder of the Japanese Red Army and a key figure in a series of international terrorist incidents in the 1970s, was arrested outside a hotel in Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture, on Nov. 8 after nearly 30 years on the run.

Shigenobu, a native of Tokyo, dropped out of Meiji University and in 1969 became an active member of the Red Army Faction Noun 1.
