2AB, provider of the Integration Platform for Trusted Solutions announced today the general availability of orb2 for JAVA release 2.2. 2AB's orb2 offers an integration platform for developing and managing distributed applications that are open, secure, flexible and interoperable. The orb2 products deliver industry-standard CORBA(R)/IIOP as the fundamental technology behind 2AB's trusted integration platform. 2AB has enhanced their implementation of the portable object adapter (POA) architecture to provide support for recently standardized CORBA(R) features such as portable interceptors (PI) and to improve footprint and performance characteristics. The CORBA(R) architecture realized in 2AB's robust, multi-threaded implementation enables orb2 to reliably scale to support billions of objects. Bundled with this release are two location services - the orb2 Trading and an OMG Naming Service. Feature enhancements also include new graphical administration tools that enhance visibility and ease management of distributed solutions.
