28th Annual ``American Music Awards'' Set to Air January 8th on ABC from dick clark productions.

BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2001

Hosted by Britney Spears and LL Cool J, the 28th Annual "American Music Awards" will be broadcast on Monday, January 8, 2001 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

The awards special honors the stars of 2000 in contemporary music as voted by record-buyers. Awards will be presented in Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip Hop, Latin Music, Adult Contemporary and Alternative Music and Favorite Soundtrack categories.

Previous winners of this prestigious award include Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Little Richard, Whitney Houston, Prince, Billy Joel and Gloria Estefan.

Performers on this year's special include Billy Gilman, Marilyn Manson, OutKast, Pink, Jessica Simpson, 3 Doors Down, Toni Braxton, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Martina McBride and SHeDAISY. Aerosmith will receive the "International Artist Award" and will also perform on the show. Kid Rock will present a salute to great musical talent of 2000. An award will also be presented to the "Internet Artist of the Year." Fans can vote for this award online at www.americanmusicawards.com through January 8th.
