27-HOLE PLAYGROUND ON COURSE.Byline: Teresa Jimenez Daily News Staff Writer An Orange County company plans a playground for adults - a 27-hole course in Valencia that offers the fun of golf in just one hour and requires only putters. ``It's not a miniature-golf course, but a golf course in miniature,'' said Jack Hopkins, president of Putting Courses of America Inc. ``It's just like golf in that you're going to find water traps, sand traps. The big surprise will come when you actually putt off a 9-foot cliff with a pounding waterfall waterfall, a sudden unsupported drop in a stream. The course provides several benefits. First, those who want to improve their putting will get a more intensive opportunity to practice because the holes are 50 feet to 130 feet apart, Hopkins said. The course also will change direction every week, which will completely change the challenges on the course, Hopkins said. In addition, a golf pro will be on staff to give lessons and help with pointers, he said. Second, it will provide an entertainment location for local residents and organizations, Hopkins said.
