27-HOLE PLAYGROUND ON COURSE.

Byline: Teresa Jimenez Daily News Staff Writer

An Orange County company plans a playground for adults - a 27-hole course in Valencia that offers the fun of golf in just one hour and requires only putters.

``It's not a miniature-golf course, but a golf course in miniature,'' said Jack Hopkins, president of Putting Courses of America Inc. ``It's just like golf in that you're going to find water traps, sand traps. The big surprise will come when you actually putt off a 9-foot cliff with a pounding waterfall waterfall, a sudden unsupported drop in a stream. It is formed when the stream course is interrupted as when a stream passes over a layer of harder rock—often igneous—to an area of softer and therefore more easily eroded rock; the edge of a cliff or  there. Accuracy is imperative.''

The natural grass putting golf course will wrap around the Shell gasoline gasoline or petrol, light, volatile mixture of hydrocarbons for use in the internal-combustion engine and as an organic solvent, obtained primarily by fractional distillation and "cracking" of petroleum, but also obtained from natural gas, by  station at McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard. The city Planning city planning, process of planning for the improvement of urban centers in order to provide healthy and safe living conditions, efficient transport and communication, adequate public facilities, and aesthetic surroundings.  Commission last week approved a conditional-use permit for the project, which should break ground by April and open by the end of the year, Hopkins said.

The course was designed by Ted Robinson, the creator of 170 golf courses around the world.

``It's somewhere between golf and miniature golf,'' city Planning Manager Jeff Lambert said. ``There are no windmills The List of windmills is a link page for any windmill or windpump. Collections

  • generally, the make-up and costuming of a clown, as in "Bubbles arrived first, in clownface, and ready to greet the crowd"
. It's just golfing.''

The course provides several benefits. First, those who want to improve their putting will get a more intensive opportunity to practice because the holes are 50 feet to 130 feet apart, Hopkins said.

The course also will change direction every week, which will completely change the challenges on the course, Hopkins said.

In addition, a golf pro will be on staff to give lessons and help with pointers, he said.

Second, it will provide an entertainment location for local residents and organizations, Hopkins said. The new facility will include a restaurant that will seat 150 people on the patio patio

``We plan on doing a lot of catered functions in conjunction with the Hyatt,'' Hopkins said. ``We can put on events for charity groups, professional organizations, women's leagues Women's League (in Swedish: Kvinnoligan) was a feminist organization in Sweden, based in Lund. But most important - it will provide adults in town with a fun activity. The course will be lighted, allowing it to stay open until 10 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends, Hopkins said.

And Hopkins pictures residents hosting parties and celebrations at the course.

``One word to describe it would be fun. It's a way of getting a real round of golf in an hour instead of five,'' Hopkins said. ``We'll have a title company with 180 employees. Or a 90th birthday party. Or a 10th birthday party.''
