26 ordinances promulgated during Musharraf regime presented in senate in the light of SC July, 31 verdict.ISLAMABAD, October 13, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Government had presented 26 out of 36 ordinances in the senate in the light of Supreme Court verdict which were promulgated during Musharraf regime. Opposition held the ordinances had been presented in violation of article 89 of the constitution while government was of the view no violation of article 89 had been committed. Ordinances were tabled by state minister for parliamentary affairs Mehrin Anwar Raja with the permission of chairman senate. Speaking on a point of order PML-N PML-N Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz group) senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah Group Captain Zafar Ali Shah was recipient of Vir Chakra. He was one of first from Indian Air Force to get the award in 1950. He got it for Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. He commanded No.10 Squadron of Indian Air Force in that war. He was killed in an air accident in the 60s. said the ordinances pertaining to 2007 could not be presented in the parliament under article 89 of the constitution. As per supreme court orders, 36 ordinances were required to be tabled but only 26 ordinances had been presented. Minister for parliamentary affairs, Babar Awan said these ordinances should be considered to be under supreme court July, 31 decision. Whenever ordinances are presented these will be tabled in accordance with the decision of supreme court, he added. The remaining ordinances would be reviewed and presented in the house, he added. The ordinance which is passed by both the houses of the parliament will take the shape of law and those rejected will be done away with, he announced.
