26 more suspects arrested from Swat, Malakand: ISPR.

ISLAMABAD, July 11, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- The security forces have apprehended 26 more suspected and recovered arms and ammunition from Swat and Malakand. According to an update issued by ISPR here Saturday, security forces carried out operation at Abbasia hotel near Malam Jabba and apprehended 2 suspected terrorists and recovered, one Small Machine Gun including ammunition, one rifle, one carbine and three pistols. Security forces carried out search operation at Waliabad and apprehended 24 suspects. Search operation in the area of village Churkhai, Talang and Sadda Khan was carried out by the security forces. In result of exchange of fire with the terrorists three soldiers were injured in TV Booster area near Thana. An IED exploded near a culvert on link road between Huwaid and Nurar in Bannu resultantly causing partial damage to the bridge. During search operation in Dir, security forces recovered 4 safety fuses, 4 detonators, 27 meter blasting cord and 6 kg explosive and destroyed one hide out of terrorists. Cash cards, as part of relief activities, have been distributed amongst more than 125,000 families of IDPs of Malakand. Todate IDPs have drawn cash over Rs 1.55 billion.
