The most important thing is to stay focused and not take safety for granted.'' Alford credited the UPS training program and other drivers who helped him when he was a new driver. Company officials said drivers live by a code called the Five Seeing Habits: (1) Aim high in steering The process whereby builders, brokers, and rental property managers induce purchasers or lessees of real property to buy land or rent premises in neighborhoods composed of persons of the same race. , (2) look well ahead on the roadway and get the big picture by surveying the road and determining potential road hazards, (3) keep your eyes moving and be aware of other drivers, (4) leave yourself an escape and pace yourself to avoid unnecessary stops and starts, and (5) make sure other drivers see you. UPS manager Rob Roxbury presented the award to Alford for 25 years of safe driving. Alford lives in Lake Los Angeles with his wife, Betty Jo.
