25,000 post staff to strike.

POSTAL deliveries are set to be thrown into chaos as more than 25,000 Royal Mail staff go on strike over the next few days.

It will be the biggest wave of industrial action to hit the postal service since 2007.

Workers in Edinburgh, Northampton, Birmingham, Coventry, London and Essex will stage a 24-hour walkout from today, with staff in Dalkeith, Peterborough, and Bristol following suit tomorrow.

The strike is then due to spread to Ipswich and Suffolk on Monday before expanding to other parts of the UK.

Furious Royal Mail drivers will be among those on strike, meaning thousands of letters and packages will go undelivered undelivered adjno entregado al destinatario;

 deputy general secretary Dave Ward said workers were furious at plans to shed 1600 jobs.

He added: "Postal workers are sick and tired of an incompetent management running their business into the ground.

"Workers are busier than ever and being treated badly."

A Royal Mail spokesman hit back, saying: "We condemn the CWU for striking over much-needed modernisation and change."
