Byline: with Davy T

IT IS ONE of the biggest Friday nights in town. ``Play'' at Society has become one of the best Friday nights out with a host of guest DJs.

Promoter and DJ Emile is pleased at its soaraway success. He told me: ``I started DJing in about 1994 playing hard house. I was also promoting at the same time.

``One of the first events I created was Totem, which had a big following in its day.''

He left after a few years to go to college and started teaching at Liverpool community college Liverpool Community College is the only college of further education in Liverpool. It was established in 1992 by the amalgamation of all the further education colleges in Liverpool and was formerly known as the "City of Liverpool Community College". .

He left there in summer 2000 and returned to the club scene, starting working on the new Society Club.

He said: ``Society was launched in September 2000 and received massive acclaim and has gone from strength to strength, attracting clubbers from all over the country.

``It has become almost overnight one of the city's best clubs with a truly great reputation among clubbers.''

In April 2001 he went to work at Juice FM Juice 107.6 is an Independent Local Radio, set up in 1998 in Liverpool after the failure of alternative music station 107.6 Crash FM and its subsequent purchase by Forever Broadcasting.  as promotions and marketing executive.

``It's a great station,'' he says. ``All the people there are doing a great job for the city. Juice is a dance musicbased station and embodies all aspects of club culture. Liverpool needed this station and it's great.''

In August 2001 he helped to start a night called Play at Society on Fridays with DJ Dave Graham David Ethan Graham (born November 10, 1981 in Maine) is a professional rock climber. Professing to enjoy bouldering the most, he is one of the elite sport climbers and boulderers of his generation. Graham repeats classic routes/problems as well as puts up cutting-edge first ascents.  as resident.

The night was launched as a tool to represent Juice FM's dance music policy on the dancefloors of Liverpool. It was an instant success.

He said: ``Play was about having a good time and the clubbers loved it and still do. It's rammed each week and getting bigger all the time.''

``It's for people who can't wait for the weekend. It's fun. We've never had a bad night.''

Emile, 24, and living in Toxteth, likes to keep his second name under wraps and lives for Friday nights.
