21st century technology makes its mark on landmark building.


Recently completed window replacement in a portion of the Union Theological Seminary Union Theological Seminary may refer to:
  • Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York, an ecumenical seminary affiliated with Columbia University in Manhattan
  • Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education, in Richmond, Virginia
 landmark building used Optimum Windows' premier products.

Over 130 Optimum Series HR-4500 hot-rolled steel project-in hopper, fixed picture and special shape cathedral arch transom windows were selected to match the historic gothic revival Gothic revival, term designating a return to the building styles of the Middle Ages. Although the Gothic revival was practiced throughout Europe, it attained its greatest importance in the United States and England.  style chapel and theological administrative building.

The Optimum windows were installed by Depot Construction of Jamaica Hills, NY. Skanska USA of Manhattan was the construction manager for the renovation of the southwest quadrant of the historic building. Staunton Chow, P.C. of New York New York, state, United States

The Optimum Series HR-4500 was selected as the replacement window because of it could be flawlessly crafted to match the historic cathedral-like look of the existing windows. Made from solid steel sections, the Optimum hot-rolled Series 4500 windows are noted for their quality, strength, thin sight lines and ability to replicate window materials from the past.

The Series HR-4500 steel hopper and fixed windows at the Seminary project feature true divided lights to preserve the historic look of the building and 3/4" insulated glass to provide modern energy efficiency. The windows are finished with a custom black paint.
