213 stone crushing companies working in Margalla Hills: Dr Babar Awan.

ISLAMABAD, November 16, 2009 (Frontier Star): Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan informed the Parliament that approximately 213 stone crushing companies were working in Margalla Hills of the federal Capital. Responding to a point of order in the Parliament federal Parliamentary Minister informed the house that out of 213 stone crushing companies about sixteen crushing factories were working in the area of the federal capital, while the remaining crushing companies were working in the Punjab. He also informed that among the sixteen stone crushing companies that were working in the Margalla hills of Islamabad only two companies had relevant licenses including FACTO Cement and Margalla Stone Crusher Company that provide stones for the railway tracks. Parliamentary Affairs Minister further underlined that notices have already been submitted to the sixteen stone crushing companies working in the jurisdiction of the federal capital adding that district administration of Islamabad has also issued Ten-days warning for the concerned companies to close their work. Punjab Government has also been informed about the remaining stone crushing factories to take their action regarding on licenses and other environmental problems, Babar Awan added. In the past blue-eyed personalities and companies were facilitated with allotment of plots in National Park Islamabad, who established illegal constructions adding that the government has been initiating steps to restrict constructions at the sites of parks.
