21 in court after raids; OPERATION LASER: Suspects charged in crackdown on organised crime.

A FURTHER 21 people appeared in court yesterday as part of Warwickshire Police's unprecedented crackdown on organised crime in the county.

The five women and 16 men, aged between 22 and 56, appeared before Nuneaton Magistrates Court following a series of dawn raids in the early hours of Tuesday.

The raids, which involved 250 of-ficers and took place at 20 addresses across Leamington, Warwick, Coventry, Kenilworth, Oxford and Birmingham, formed part of the force's Operation Laser, which aims to tackle organised crime in the region.

The latest arrests and charges follow raids in Nuneaton and Bedworth Nuneaton and Bedworth (nənē`tən), district (1991 pop. 115,300), Warwickshire, central England. The district primarily comprises the city of Nuneaton and the town of Bedworth. The district's growth was based on coal mining.  last week, which led to 17 men and women appearing in court. They are due to appear again at Warwick Crown Court on November 16. Both operations had been planned since January. Those who appeared at court yesterday included the following who were all charged with conspiring to supply Class A drugs: Marina Francesca Certo, 41, of Arlington Avenue, Leamington; Harjit Dulai, 30, of Tachbrook Road, Leamington; Lisa Michelle Ellington, 25, of Newland Street, Lillington; Lee Alan Farndon, 33, of Willes Road, Leamington; Carlos Ferreira, 36, of Tachbrook Road, Leamington; Laura Forrest, 27, of Ashton Court Ashton Court (grid reference ST553723) is a mansion house and estate to the west of Bristol in England. Although the estate lies mainly in North Somerset, it is owned by the City of Bristol. , Lillington; Nicholas Alan Grainger, 30, of Newland Street, Lillington; Gary William Leslie William Leslie was a rugby league player in the New South Wales Rugby League's foundation season of 1908. Mark Paul Twigg, 29, of Ranelagh Terrace, Leamington was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, offering to supply controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

In addition a 38-year-old man, of Falstaff Road, Coventry, remains under arrest and a 56-year-old man, of Arlington Avenue, Leamington, was cautioned and released from custody.
