21 dolphins die in horror strandings.


DISTRAUGHT rescue workers lay out the bodies of 13 dolphins killed in shallow water See:

  • Shallow Water, Kansas
 yesterday as they tried to swim back to the sea.

At least 21 of the mammals died - some after they went to answer the distress cries from others.

It is thought 50 dolphins headed up river in Cornwall from the open sea, chasing record stocks of fish before they became dehydrated de·hy·drate

1. To remove water from; make anhydrous.

2. To preserve by removing water from (vegetables, for example).
 then suffocated in the worst stranding for 30 years.
