21 ANSWER ROLL CALL FOR SCHOOL BOARD SEATS.

Twenty-one people are running for 10 seats on the Santa Clarita Valley's five elementary school boards.

Challengers will face seven incumbents in the races for seats on the boards.

Meanwhile, there will be no election in the Santa Clarita Community College District, which governs College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. Paul Strickland and Steve Sturgeon will vacate their seats on the board of the Sulphur Springs School District The Sulphur Springs School District is a school district in the Santa Clarita Valley that serves portions of the Canyon Country and Newhall communities within the city of Santa Clarita, California. As of March 26, 2006, it has 8 elementary schools. , as will Philip Ellis Jr., a Newhall school board member. The three are running for the board of the William S. Hart Union High School District.

Thomas Caesar and Lester Freeman are running for re-election to the Castaic Union School District board, challenged by Becky Bennett, Patrick Corrigan, Phillip Mazzeo and Steven Sansone for the at-large seats.

In the Saugus Union School District, incumbent Rose Koscielny will face challengers Douglas Bryce and Rose Diaz.

Incumbent Marilyn Sparks will face M. Teresa Todd and Michael Hogan for two seats in Sulphur Springs.

Newhall School District The Newhall School District is a school district in the Santa Clarita Valley that serves the Valencia and Newhall communities within the city of Santa Clarita, California, as well as the Stevenson Ranch community in unincorporated Los Angeles County.  incumbent Ron Winkler Winkler may refer to:
