A host of city organisations have formed themselves into the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership for the 2012 Games. Its 12 goals include getting Coventry's Ricoh Arena Inaugural events The arena became the venue for Coventry City's home games at the start of the 2005-06 season, following 106 years at the Highfield Road stadium. The first competitive football match played at the Ricoh Arena was against Queens Park Rangers on 20 August 2005, in chosen for the preliminary football games; having a 25-metre screen in Coventry city centre to show highlights; having at least one pre-games training camp in Coventry or Warwickshire; and putting Coventry on the route of the Olympic and Paralympic torch relays.
