European qualifying matches begin Saturday, Sept. 6, including a live and exclusive clash between Hungary and Denmark at 1:30 p.m. ET. Fox Soccer Channel has added Asian matches to its line-up of World Cup qualifying events for the first time, and coverage of that region also begins Sept. 6 with a pair of important contests featuring Saudi Arabia vs. Iran and Bahrain vs. Japan. The action heats up on Wednesday, Sept. 10, as North Korea and South Korea square off with much more than just three group stage points at stake.

"Soccer fans know that some of the most gripping and compelling World Cup action happens before the final tournament even begins," said David Sternberg, Fox Soccer Channel executive vice president and general manager. "As we saw when England failed to reach the 2008 European Championships, there are no guarantees in qualifying for major tournaments. We're excited to showcase the best teams and players in Asia and Europe to an American audience."
