2009 mHealth Summit Issues Call for Speaker Presentations.Summit Scheduled for October 29-30 in Washington, DC: Deadline: Midnight, August 28(th), 2009 BETHESDA, Md. -- 2009 mHealth Summit issued the "Call for Speaker Presentations" today. The two-day Summit is the first to focus on exploring the multi-discipline integration between biomedical research and the use of mobile technologies to improve public health. It will bring together diverse domestic and international stakeholders with interest and involvement in health research and health care delivery using mobile technologies. The Summit's Program Committee is particularly interested in case-centered presentations illustrating solutions where mobile technology platforms are being used for biomedical research and healthcare delivery. Where appropriate, submissions should address any transfer of lessons learned between US and global settings. Presentations will be grouped thematically in four tracks, presented as moderated sessions, and are expected to last 12 minutes with additional time for a Q&A session. Designated categories include: * Education: Mobile technologies as delivery tools for health and science education and training. Targets are scientists, healthcare providers, and/or patients. * Remote Data Collection and Surveillance: Potential of mobile technologies to transform the way in which epidemiological and surveillance research is conducted. * Point-of-Care Diagnostics and Remote Patient Monitoring: In low-resource settings around the world, low-cost technologies are needed to reach underserved populations remotely or at the "point of care." * Behavior Change and Health Promotion: Provide case study examples of implementation research and impact evaluations, that assess the health impact of mobile technologies and their utility as tools for behavior change.
