2009 PSA Chapters Showcase.

The Inland Empire was the host Chapter for the 2009 Chapters Showcase. Serving as the Chairman from the Inland Empire Chapter was Bob Griffith, FPSA, EPSA. The highly qualified team of judges was: John Dean, FPSA, Carlos Delgadillo and Steve Shining, APSA. Harvey Brown served as scorekeeper and was assisted by Jean Timmermeister, FPSA.

Ten PSA Chapters sent 10 images each for judging and inclusion in the Showcase program. Although the host Chapter is not permitted to have their images judged, the Inland Empire Chapter also submitted 10 excellent pictures to be included in the Showcase.

The ten Chapters entering the 2009 Showcase were: Cascade, Central Florida, Chicago, Everglades, Gem State, Gold Rush, Mid Atlantic, Rocky Mountain, Wisconsin, and Yerba Buena.

The individual top scoring images from each Chapter were from: Pat Start of the Cascade Chapter; Jim Ickes of the Central Florida Chapter; John Hewitt of the Chicago Chapter, Michael Rosenbaum of the Everglades Chapter; Lloyd Bever, FPSA, of the Gold Rush Chapter; Dick Porter of the Gem State Chapter; Brenda Gillum of the Mid Atlantic Chapter; Rob Palmer of the Rocky Mountain Chapter, Gerald Emmerich, Jr., FPSA, EPSA, of the Wisconsin Chapter and Marvin Miller of the Yerba Buena Chapter. The judges chose the following photos as their favorites from the entire Showcase:

Third Runner-up: Golden Eagle on Kill, Gerald Emmerich, Jr., FPSA, EPSA; Second Runner-up: Chickadee, Marvin Miller; First Runner-up: Flying Horse, Brenda Gillum; and Best of Showcase: Mother and Baby, Jim Ickes.

For 2009, the Chapter scoring the highest number of points in the judging was the Yerba Buena Chapter with 119 points. In second place was the Mid Atlantic Chapter with 114 points and in third place was the Central Florida Chapter with 108 points.

The Chapters are excited that the Electronic Imaging Division (EID) has agreed to take over the job of producing the Showcase beginning with the 2009 Showcase. Each year a different EID member will handle this task. Stan Ashbrook, FPSA, created this year's fantastic CD. A CD was presented to each Chapter after the premier showing of the Showcase at the Yellowstone Conference. A Showcase CD may also be rented for showing to camera clubs and other interested organizations by sending a check for $10.00 to: John A.
