 Awards recognize the year's best in direct marketing. The Awards also serve as a kick-off celebration of the 4(th) Annual Bridge to Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Conference (July 21-23), which brings together the direct marketing and fundraising industries.

The MAXI Awards are divided among five campaign categories: Association, Business, Nonprofit, Political and Workhorse work·horse

. Within each division, several sub-categories of accomplishments are honored including sales, acquisition, fundraising, renewals, major donors and special appeal. Additionally, for the best of the best -- as determined by the MAXI Award judges, two winning campaigns are honored with the event's ultimate award: The Big Idea.

"With more than 200 nominations submitted this year, the 2009 winners truly embody the best ideas across the marketing and fundraising industries," said Donna Tschiffely, Executive Director of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington. "In today's tough economic climate, now more than ever, marketing campaigns need to make an impact, be effective and deliver on budget. This year's winners found ways to move audiences and get results during a time when so many companies are cutting the resources to offset the downturn."

Honored as the best of all the winning entries for the year, the 2009 Maxi Big Idea Award Winners are:
