The data in the 2008 import charts is derived from a report from the Foreign Trade Division of the Census Bureau. The Census Bureau, a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the official source of data for the U.S. government. The Foreign Trade Division receives its information from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bureau of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The monthly fresh mushroom volume data reported from the Mushroom Council is derived directly from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Bureau's collections report.
