 event on Saturday, May 17, 2008 - featuring winemakers, chefs and artisan producers the Paso Robles Wine Festival is the region's pinnacle culinary showcase now in its 26th year. Several new components to this traditional wine tasting celebration have been added by the event's producer, the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. New sponsorship partners, multiple ticket levels, a demonstration kitchen, wine education classes and a general focus on locally grown, sustainably created products as well as a new RESERVE event now complement the more than 90 Paso Robles wineries for a complete Festival showcase.

The 2008 Wine Festival introduces multiple ticket levels, giving attendees more options to choose from with an array of times and activities. RESERVE admission, new in 2008, is the all access Wine Festival Pass. Thanks to the new sponsorship partners, Festival organizers have incorporated new culinary aspects into the event. At the demonstration kitchen - sponsored by Idlers home appliance - attendees can hear from local chefs as they share their culinary secrets through 30 minute demonstrations. The American Lamb Board and Hearst Ranch Beef will provide sample tastes prepared at the outdoor grilling station, guaranteed to send mouth watering aromas throughout the park. Walk through Artisan Alley and taste locally grown, sustainably created products from olive oil olive oil, pale yellow to greenish oil obtained from the pulp of olives by separating the liquids from solids. Olive oil was used in the ancient world for lighting, in the preparation of food, and as an anointing oil for both ritual and cosmetic purposes.  to cheese and everything in between in this cohesive environment of food - presented by Saveur Magazine and Pasolivo Olive Oil.

In partnership with Wine Enthusiast Magazine Wine Enthusiast magazine is a magazine covering wine, food, spirits, travel and entertaining topics. * Wine Festival Golf Tournament - Friday, May 16, 2008 at Hunter Ranch Golf Course. Check-in and registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start A Shotgun Start is a golf tournament format in which all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes. Each hole on a course will be the tee off hole for each foursome. Group 1 would start from hole 1, Group 2 from hole 2, etc.  at 8:30 a.m. Call 800-549-WINE to purchase tickets.

* RESERVE - Friday, May 16, 2008 at Paso Robles Downtown City Park 4-6 p.m. A new kick-off event on the eve of the Paso Robles Wine Festival winemakers gather to pour their exclusive reserve, barrel sample and library wines for Reserve ticket holders.

* Paso Robles Wine Festival - Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Paso Robles Downtown City Park 1-5 p.m. More than 90 wineries will be on hand to pour during this unlimited wine tasting event.
