"The 2008 CA Championship was a showcase for the game of golf and a tremendous platform for CA to share its passion for the sport with its customers and the South Florida community," said Bill Hughes, CA's senior vice president of Corporate Communications Corporate communications is the process of facilitating information and knowledge exchanges with internal and key external groups and individuals that have a direct relationship with an enterprise. . "Importantly, golf fans from around the world enjoyed the CA Championship as it was broadcast in more than 200 countries and reached approximately 550 million households worldwide."

For the first time in the 10-year history of the World Golf Championships, an event was forced to finish on a Monday as severe weather delays over the weekend prevented the completion of the final round as scheduled. That didn't stop the International Federation of PGA Tours and CA, one of the world's largest enterprise IT management software companies, from treating golf fans from around the globe to a world-class event.

The tournament also enabled CA to execute several charitable initiatives aimed toward making a difference in the lives of children and enriching their love for the game of golf. CA hosted a special golf clinic for 10 young, aspiring golfers from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami to meet and learn the game from CA-sponsored golfer Retief Goosen. The Company also successfully launched its inaugural CA Course Reporters program in which four kids from The First Tee and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami served as the eyes and ears of the CA Championship for young golf fans and shared their experiences through their own blog at www.WorldGolfChampionships.com.

"The CA Championship offers the opportunity for us to extend our efforts in giving back to the communities in which we live and work," Hughes continued. "The Boys & Girls Clubs and First Tee are important charities for CA and we are extremely pleased with the results of our CA Course Reporter program and proud of its participants."

CA Course Reporter Philip Spano said, "I had the unique opportunity to experience what goes on behind the scenes of a major golf tournament. I learned so much and had such an incredible time!"

CA also made a series of donations including six sets of SNAG (Starting New at Golf) equipment to the local Boys & Girls Clubs in support of their growing golf programs. This donation is an extension of CA's current three-year, $4.6 million donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America that helped launch their National Information Technology Security Program. CA donated a total of 200 Championship Club tickets to the South Florida Golf Foundation (SFGF), the Boys & Girls of Miami and The First Tee Miami for each day of tournament play. These offerings continued to drive home CA's company values rooted in giving back to the community, and strengthen its presence in the South Florida area. In addition, CA has again partnered with the SFGF and will donate the proceeds of the tournament.
