2008 Biennial Conference Perth, Western Australia the count down begins.

Well, with the excellent South Australian Conference now behind us it is time to start thinking about the next conference in 2008 in Perth, WA. I know, I know, it is ages away right? Yes and no.

The conference team is being assembled as we speak with lots of great ideas to ensure that this conference is the best one yet with a special emphasis on celebrating 50 years of the MHSA MHSA Master of Health Services Administration (graduate degree)
MHSA Montana High School Association
MHSA Mine Health and Safety Act (South Africa)
. We have a fabulous venue planned in a historical setting with exciting, interactive outings to some of Perth's rich military history locations.

What makes a great conference though? We believe it is participation and attendance with a strong emphasis on the latter and from the initial feedback from those of you I met in Adelaide the WA branch of the MHSA look forward to seeing many members attending from all over Australia.

With the conference scheduled for Easter 2008 it is not too early to start planning your visit. Many of you having family and friends residing in the greater Perth district so what a great way to justify a holiday in WA. Airfares are getting less expensive in real terms with both Qantas and Virgin offering "e-deals" that can be booked online providing significant savings by booking well in advance.

As the event draws closer we will be updating you via this excellent publication and the equally useful MHSA internet website on venues and events, providing material to help you plan your holiday and whetting you appetite with all manner of interesting local military history tidbits TidBITS is an award-winning electronic newsletter and web site dealing primarily with Apple Computer and Macintosh-related topics.  some of which I am sure will be covered in papers presented by the local members whose varied and diverse interests cover pretty much all periods of military history both local and national.

We are currently putting together a template for those interested in putting together a MS Powerpoint presentation and hope to have that available from the website or available via email in the near future. Submissions for papers will also be invited in due course as we all look forward to welcoming everyone of you to a fantastic event celebrating the Golden Jubilee For the diamond, see .
