The O'Reilly Open Source Convention The O'Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON) is an annual convention for the discussion of open source software, such as Linux, MySQL, Perl and Python.  2007 will bring over 2500 open source professionals together to network, learn, and share the latest knowledge around open source software. The Call for Participation for OSCON 2007 is now dosed. Registration opens in April. If you have a favorite technique, a newly-developed technology, or have a speaker you would like to see lead a session or tutorial at OSCON 2007 contact: oscon-idea@oreilly.com. For those open source folks looking to delve more deeply into Ubuntu A popular Linux distribution that is noted for its ease of installation and use. Based on the Debian version of Linux and introduced in 2004, Ubuntu is sponsored by Canonical Ltd., London and Montreal (www.canonical.com). , the inaugural will coincide with the first two days of OSCON to further connect the open source and Ubuntu communities.

OSCON will feature:

* More than 400 sessions designed to build inspiration as much as know-how, focusing on Linux, PHP (PHP Hypertext Preprocessor) A scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages. With syntax from C, Java and Perl, PHP code is embedded within HTML pages for server side execution. , Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, Databases, Desktop Applications, Web Applications, and much more.

* 40 tutorials go deep into the technology behind open source innovations

* O'Reilly Radar: The Executive Briefing, an opportunity to meet with the most influential minds guiding the business of open source.

* Over 2500 open source developers, gums, experts, and users under one roof

* An Expo Hall Expo Hall is an indoor arena located at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida.
