Shattered, by Eric Walters, is the winner of the $3,000 National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award for books published in 2006. The book is published by Penguin Group (Canada).

Titles on the short list were:

A Very Fine Line

written by Julie Johnston

(Tundra Books)

Following judging, submitted books were sent to schools that participate in the IODE Labrador Adopt-A-Class program and to The National Ballet School.
