2007 Joint Conference Brings Together 3 Local TAPPI Sections.

NORCROSS, Ga. -- Three TAPPI Local sections - Southeastern TAPPI, Ohio TAPPI, and Virginia-Carolina TAPPI - will combine their efforts to host a 2007 Joint Fall Conference featuring a tour of the Domtar Mill in Kingsport, Tennessee. Metso Inc. will serve as Event Sponsor. The conference will be held October 3-5, 2007, in Kingsport, Tennessee.

The tour will highlight the modernization and upgrades made to the Domtar Kingsport mill. The first day is an 8-hour professional development workshop (worth 8 PDUs) titled Project Management: Risk & Saving a Project. For the second day, expert speakers will examine pulping, papermaking, and energy savings issues. The program will include exclusive presentations by mill personnel to give attendees special insight into the improvements seen on the mill tour.
