2007 CFMTA-MTNA-RCM: Collaborative Conference highlights.


Opening Session and Concerto Concert

The Opening Session of the 2007 Collaborative Conference was held at Roy Thomson Hall Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall located at 60 Simcoe Street in Toronto, Canada. It is the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. .

Lo-An Lin, 2006 MTNA Senior Piano Competition Winner, performed with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra following the Opening Session. Lucas Porter, winner of the best concerto performance at the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals final competition, also performed a concerto. The concerto concert was sponsored by Yamaha Corporation of American and Yamaha Canada Music, Ltd.

The Mississauga Children's Choir participated in a session titled, "Collaboration in Song: Celebrating Canadian Choral Music."

The Collaborative Conference Steering Committee was recognized at the Gala. Bramwell Tovey, conductor of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is a Canadian orchestra performing in Vancouver, British Columbia. Over 240,000 people attend its live performances each year. It was founded in 1919 and plays in 12 venues. Its home is the Orpheum theatre. , presented a keynote address on Monday.
