2007 ARCHI-TECH AV Awards Winners Announced at InfoComm 07.

CEDAR RAPIDS Cedar Rapids, city (1990 pop. 108,751), seat of Linn co., E central Iowa, on the Cedar River; inc. as a city 1856. The second largest city in Iowa, it is named for the surging rapids in the river. , Iowa -- ARCHI-TECH magazine and ([R]) announced the winners of the 2007 ARCHI-TECH AV Awards competition. The ARCHI-TECH AV Awards honor exceptional audiovisual architectural projects.

Two grand prizes and three other winners were named from among the projects submitted for consideration.

"It is an achievement and speaks to a firm's talents that these firms were chosen from so many outstanding audiovisual projects to receive one of just five ARCHI-TECH AV Awards," said Jim Forthofer, publisher of ARCHI-TECH.

"These winning entries represent the pinnacle pinnacle (pĭn`ĭkəl), minor architectural motif of vertical tapering shape, usually crowning a pier, buttress, or gable. Although sometimes it appears in Renaissance design, as in the Certosa di Pavia, it is almost exclusively a medieval  of design, functionality, and technological achievement," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International.

The awards were presented at InfoComm International's annual AV awards ceremony, held at InfoComm 07 in Anaheim, CA. Award-winning projects will be featured in the July/August 2007 issue of ARCHI-TECH and in an eLunch & Learn series of free webinars.
