ATLANTA -- The 2nd Annual Andrew and Walter Young Family All Pro Golf Tournament benefiting the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA will be held on October 24, 2006 at the Golf Club of Georgia located at One Golf Club Drive, Alpharetta, Ga. Space is limited for the fundraising tournament, which recently signed on FedEx as our premier sponsor and The PGA TOUR The PGA Tour is an organization that operates the USA's main professional golf tours. It is headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA. Its name is officially rendered in all caps as “PGA TOUR".  Superstore as our premier logistics sponsor.

The sponsor and celebrity reception will be held on Oct. 23 at 6:00 pm at The PGA TOUR Superstore's Buckhead location and will commence with cocktails and a silent auction. Ambassador Andrew Young Andrew Jackson Young, Jr. (born March 12, 1932) is an American civil rights activist, former mayor of Atlanta, Georgia, and was the United States' first African-American ambassador to the United Nations.  will be in attendance. Additionally, the reception will include a special presentation and dedication, including the presentation of the first-ever Upholding the Dreams of Children award in tribute to the late Earl Woods Earl Dennison Woods (March 5, 1932 – May 3, 2006) was an athlete, a US Army infantry officer, (retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel), and the father of golfer Tiger Woods. , father of golf superstar Tiger Woods Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled. . Also, baseball legend Hank Aaron will be in attendance. He will receive the first Young Family Humanitarian Award at the post-tournament reception on October 24, 2006. Tyrone Spears will be honored at the post-tournament reception for spearheading the first Andrew & Walter Young All Pro Golf Tournament in 2005.

"Events such as this one are infinitely important to the newly named Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA, because it serves as a direct link to the obvious need of the community. With the help of our sponsors, we have been able to achieve a vision that last year was only a dream."

For the silent auction, the Atlanta Braves The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Braves are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League. From to the present, the Braves have played in Turner Field. , Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Thrashers The Atlanta Thrashers are a professional ice hockey team based in Atlanta, Georgia. They are members of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Their home arena is Philips Arena.  have committed to donating memorabilia and/or packages. Likewise, the three teams will be involved in the tournament. Brian Jordan of the Atlanta Braves along with Dominique Wilkins, Atlanta Hawks; and Hank Aaron are among the few celebrities that will either play golf in the tournament or support the event by attending. Many others are in the process of being confirmed. In addition, a Hummer Golf Cart from The PGA TOUR Superstore and a vehicle from Baranco will be included.

"FedEx sponsors programs around the world that deliver opportunity to young people, so it's fitting that we participate in this event to benefit children in southwest Atlanta through the YMCA."
