and innovative service providers offering Carrier Ethernet services, and the results will be announced at Globalcomm on June 6th 2006. As in last year's competition, two awards are offered: "Best in Business" and "Outstanding Innovation".

"The Metro Ethernet Forum is searching for the stars among Carrier Ethernet service providers" explains Daniel Bar-Lev, Co-Chair of the MEF Marketing Committee. "We have been running similar awards in Europe and Asia, and the media response has been exceptional, because we are casting the spotlight on new, innovative and enterprising business models and practices around the world. Ethernet is taking over the WAN - with Infonetics predicting a doubling of revenue between 2004 and 2008 - and these service providers are the people riding the wave."

Last year's winners were AT&T for the "Service Provider of the Year - Best in Business" award and Yipes for the "Service Provider of the Year - Outstanding Innovation" award. Richard N. Klapman, Product Director, AT&T Converged Packet Access Services commented on the response to their award that "the exposure has been invaluable to us. Things are moving so fast in the Carrier Ethernet market that we're proud to tell the world about our achievements and deployments, and to invite our enterprise clients not to wait, because the Ethernet advantage is happening now!"

Application forms for both awards are available on the MEF website at www.metroethernetforum.org or can be obtained by e-mailing Kevin Vachon at Kevin@metroethernetforum.net. Applications for this year's awards must be received by May 12th 2006.
