2006 Kingsville International Competitions.The Music Club of Kingsville, Inc., will hold its 25th annual Kingsville International Competitions, April 6-8, 2006, on the campus of Texas A&M University. The Kingsville Competitions has been reorganized re·or·gan·ize v. re·or·gan·ized, re·or·gan·iz·ing, re·or·gan·iz·es v.tr. To organize again or anew. v.intr. To undergo or effect changes in organization. and this year will offer competitions for violin, viola viola: see violin. viola Stringed instrument, the tenor member of the violin family. In appearance it is almost identical to the violin but slightly larger; its strings are tuned a fifth lower. , violoncello violoncello: see violin. and double bass. The competition will offer two divisions with more than $24,000 in prize money: junior concerto concerto (kənchâr`tō), musical composition usually for an orchestra and a soloist or a group of soloists. In the 16th cent. concertare and concertato implied an ensemble, either vocal or instrumental. and solo (up to 19 years) and senior concerto and solo (up to 25 years).
