 Industry Contact Center/BPO was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Summit of the Americas is part of the Summit Circuit, which is owned and produced by MT Summit Productions, Ltd. The Summit brought together more than three hundred industry experts, suppliers, vendors and government leaders to discuss the global contact/shared services center and business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. Analysts estimate the global BPO industry to be $382.5 billion. It is expected to grow to $641 billion by 2009.

At the Summit, Dr. Lionel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic delivered an enthusiastic endorsement of the global BPO industry. President Fernandez discussed the country's major advantages in attracting firms to locate their contact center/BPO operations to the Dominican Republic. These include state-of-the art telecommunications, modern infrastructure, highly competitive labor costs and an enthusiastic skilled labor force.

"We were honored to host the first Summit to be held in Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies. . The global business process outsource industry is now estimated to over $100 billion and growing. Our objective is to significantly increase our contact center/BPO industry sector by partnering with many of the firms represented at the Summit," concluded Mr. Martinez.
