2006 AEC & Exhibition survey feedback and winners.

Have you ever wondered what happens after you drop your survey in the drop box at the conclusion of the NEHA Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition? Does the survey really get read? Is it worth your time to fill it out? Well, after every AEC & Exhibition, NEHA staff spend numerous hours reading, compiling, and reviewing the feedback. NEHA values the opinions of its attendees and exhibitors; every comment is read and every rating noted.

Feedback from NEHA's 70th AEC & Exhibition, held in San Antonio, Texas, June 25-28, 2006, was extremely positive. It also gave NEHA many good ideas for improving future conferences. As in previous years, the conference highlight for many attendees was either the education offered or the networking opportunities made available. Summing this up, one attendee wrote, "It is well worth attending--the presentations are excellent, and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet/make contacts." Of the attendees who submitted surveys, 96 percent indicated that they would attend another AEC & Exhibition, 91 percent indicated that the conference met their expectations, and 91 percent felt that their investment in the conference was a good value. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being poor and 5 being excellent), attendees rated the 2005 AEC & Exhibition at a 4.02.

As a show of appreciation, NEHA enters every attendee survey and every exhibitor survey into separate drawings for free NEHA memberships. Congratulations go to 2006 AEC & Exhibition attendee Cindy Shilinga from the Victoria City-County Health Department in Victoria, Texas, who won a free one-year NEHA Individual Membership. The 2006 AEC was the first NEHA conference Ms. Shilinga had attended. Congratulations also go to AEC exhibitor the National Library of Medicine, which won a free, one-year NEHA Sustaining Membership. The National Library of Medicine has exhibited at numerous NEHA conferences and will be exhibiting at the 2007 AEC & Exhibition in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
