2005 SLACK Market Research Surveys Reveals Cosamin(R)DS Remains Number One Glucosamine/Chondroitin Sulfate Brand Recommended by Orthopedic Surgeons and Rheumatologists(1).

EDGEWOOD, Md. -- Nutramax Laboratories, Inc., makers of Cosamin(R)DS, announces the results of the fourth consecutive survey performed by SLACK Market Research. The survey has again named CosaminDS as the number one brand of glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate sulfate, chemical compound containing the sulfate (SO4) radical. Sulfates are salts or esters of sulfuric acid, H2SO4, formed by replacing one or both of the hydrogens with a metal (e.g., sodium) or a radical (e.g., ammonium or ethyl).  recommended by orthopedic surgeons and rheumatologists.

David Moore, Vice President of the Consumer Products Division of Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. states, "We are pleased to see that these medical professionals have consistently recognized the value of our product. Only the CosaminDS brand has been proven effective in controlled, published US studies to reduce joint pain."

The study revealed that over 90% of surveyed orthopedic surgeons and rheumatologists are confident in the safety of glucosamine-chondroitin sulfate use in their patients and over two thirds associate CosaminDS with double-blind clinical studies (the number one criteria for selecting a glucosamine-chondroitin sulfate product).
