2005 SDSIC Investment Conference Creates Dynamic Forum for Software Companies to Find Venture Capital; Companies Seeking $500,000 to $5 Million in Funding Encouraged to Apply by August 15.

Coronado is across the bay.  -- For the 11th consecutive year, the San Diego Software Industry Council will present its Software Investment Conference at the La Jolla La Jolla (lə hoi`yə), on the Pacific Ocean, S Calif., an uninc. district within the confines of San Diego; founded 1869. Revenue generating software companies seeking $500,000 to $5 million can apply for a chance to "pitch" their business plan to the conference audience of about 50 investors and hundreds of software industry opinion leaders. Companies can represent a wide variety of technologies including infrastructure, wireless, Internet and embedded software Instructions that permanently reside in a ROM or flash memory chip. Embedded software may be immediately available to the CPU or, for faster execution, may be transferred to RAM first and then executed. .

Software companies interested in presenting at the conference must submit an application to SDSIC by August 15. Applications can be accessed online at http://www.sdsic.org/whats-hot.htm.

Approximately 15 software companies will be selected to give an eight to 10 minute presentation to an audience of local, regional and national venture capitalists.

Selected applicants will attend a free presentation training and dry-run designed to help them develop a winning investment pitch. Participants will view a successful presentation, hear from three investors on what they are looking for Looking for

Finalists will present their business plan at the conference and will be invited to attend a private dinner the night before where they can network with the investors and business leaders.

Historically, about 30 percent of the presenting software companies received funding as a result of participating in the conference. In 2004, Case Revolution, a San Diego-based on-demand application service, received funding as a result of the conference. Other examples include Streamload, WiredRed and Drivecam, which just closed $18 million.
