, of Reno, Nevada, has received the 2005 Nevada Arts Council An arts council is a government or private, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts mainly by funding local artists, awarding prizes, and organizing events at home and abroad.  Fellowship Grant. The $5,000 grant is awarded based on originality, newness and quality of work. Twedt was awarded the grant based on his solo piano composition work on his Ostinato ostinato: see ground bass.  CD.

Twedt began studying piano at age 6, with Kathie Krocak; Joan Houtz; Ronald Williams, NCTM; and James Winn. Twedt won the 1997 MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association
MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) 
 Collegiate Artist Piano Competition in Nevada, and went on to place third in the Southwest Division Competitions. He also has performed Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 as guest soloist with various orchestras in Reno.
