2005 National Book Award.


Tree lover and Pulitzer-prize winning poet W.S. Merwin, who won the 2005 National Book Award for Poetry for Migration: New and Selected Poems Among the numerous literary works titled Selected Poems are the following:

  • Selected Poems by Howard Moss
. Merwin was profiled as an Earthkeeper in the Winter 2005 issue of American Forests American Forests is a nonprofit conservation organization that promotes healthy forests and urban tree planting.

The organization was established in 1875 as the American Forestry Association, by physician/horticulturist John Aston Warder and a group of like-minded citizens
 for his work in preserving rare palms at his home in Hawaii Hawaii, island, United States
Hawaii, island (1990 pop. 120,217), 4,037 sq mi (10,456 sq km), largest and southernmost island of the state of Hawaii and coextensive with Hawaii co.; known as the Big Island.
